Talks Programme from June 2023

Meetings are on the second Wednesday of the month, 10 am to 12 noon at The Granary, Quay Lane, Sudbury CO10 2AN (except in August).

Wednesday 14th June: two talks by local historian Anne Grimshaw, Joseph Travis of Oldham, Grocer and witness to Peterloo and History of the Co-Op. Making a Difference….since 1844.

Wednesday 12th July: Talk by Peter Minter, owner of The Bulmer Brick & Tile Company Ltd and leading authority on the history of bricks and building heritage:
“There’s More to It than Bricks”.

Wednesday 9th August: Our annual picnic at Shrubs Farm, Lamarsh.

Wednesday 13th September: Talk by Philip Richardson, local Sudbury businessman:
“Archive Views of Sudbury’s Yesterdays”.

Wednesday 11th October: Talk by Pip Wright, author and East Anglian historian:
“Frolic, Fervour and Fornication”.
