September 2022 Meeting

At our meeting on Wednesday 14th September 2022 at the Granary in Quay Lane, our speaker Kim Smith gave us an interesting talk entitled Constable – the painter who could not get arrested.

There is a summary of her talk here .

Notices:

Our chairman reminded us of the need for new committee members, as some of the officers would be retiring at the AGM next year.

Next month’s meeting is on Wednesday 12th October, when Roger Green will speak about “The Green Man”

The December meeting will have a Christmas theme, with seasonal light refreshments and a quiz. Members are asked to contribute “Historical Snippets”.

The outing on Friday 16th September is to Blickling Hall, north of Norwich, leaving Sudbury Bus Station at 9am. This is a change of plan, because Belvoir Castle cannot accommodate our visit on that date.

The last outing of the year will be on Friday 11th November 2022, to Norwich. Do your own thing – visit the Castle, the Cathedral, the shops, the cafés, … . The cost is £12 and numbers are limited to 16.
